Statuario Marble
Statuario (Statuary in English) is the pure white marble that has long been the prize yield of the Carrara quarries in Tuscany, historically used for monumental sculpture. It is a different grade from the more common Statuarietto, despite the similar name. SoCal Tiles sells a white marble under the name Statuary White.

Statuario marble: the look
Statuario is the whitest of the Carrara-district marbles, with a clean, bright background and faint veining. Next to Bianco Carrara it reads purer and less grey, and next to Calacatta Gold the veining is fainter. For another very white choice, see Thassos marble.
